In July 2022 Quintain’s construction partners Josh Sisk & Son were awarded Community Engagement Project of the Year at the Construction News Awards, in recognition for their outreach work during construction of Quintain Living building, The Robinson. Amongst the criteria, judges of this award were looking for construction teams with evidence of:
• “Community liaison at its most effective, enabling understanding of the industry and project goals”
• “Engagement of young people as well as the wider community with the construction industry via the project”
• “A stand-out performance that particularly merits an award – the ‘wow’ factor”
The construction of The Robinson was Sisk’s 10th project in 16 years of working with Quintain at Wembley Park. Specifically designed for young professionals and those with a keen interest in retro interiors and British eccentricity, The Robinson comprises 458 eclectic Build to Rent homes across three buildings. All homes are managed by our Quintain Living team.
We are committed to ensuring our partners and contractors adopt the same sustainability values as us as a business. 73% of those on our suppliers list have a formal sustainability policy in place.
The statistics on the Robinson project are a testament to the Sisk team’s commitment to local engagement and community support, with:
• 40% of workers based locally, at peak
• 25 trade and 12 management apprentices employed on the project
• Over £156k and 900 person-hours donated by the team to local Brent charities
The team set up partnerships with local schools including facilitating site visits and carrying out playground refurbishments, hosted an annual football tournament for 250 local children, and provided tech equipment to parent and toddler charity Daniel’s Den. They provided furniture made from upcycled site timber to a local food bank and annually donated toys crafted by joinery apprentices to local children’s hospitals.
