Visiting Wembley Park

There are world-class events at Wembley Park to enjoy all year.

With its excellent transport links, Wembley Park has always been known for its live music, sports and entertainment through The OVO Arena Wembley and the National Stadium, but with the addition of the LDO, Boxpark, and Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, an extensive retail offering, annual free events programme and art trail, it is now alive with activity and a destination for every day of the year.

Formerly Wembley Arena, The OVO Arena Wembley is one of the UK’s most iconic entertainment venues. With a rich history, including during the Empire Exhibition where during which it was in use as the Empire Pool, the building has hosted iconic events such as the 1948 and 2012 Olympics.

In 2006 Quintain undertook a £35 million refurbishment of the arena, which included moving the entrance to its current location opening out onto Arena Square and looking towards Wembley Stadium. This has allowed the arena to continue hosting world famous performers such as Madonna, David Bowie, Prince, Rolling Stones, whilst also expanding to include entertainment events such as TNA Wrestling, Disney on Ice and Snooker finals.

Additionally, the London Hilton Wembley and Premier Inn Wembley Stadium have given people somewhere to stay after a show and further cementing Wembley Park as a London destination.

From interactive art installations such as Shadow Wall through to annual events such as the Summer on Screen, Wembley Park is alive with activity all year round across site. Wembley Park plays host to a wide variety of different seasonal events across the year, which have recently included:

  • Light Up the Night
  • Summer on Screen
  • Winterfest
  • Mayor of London International Busking Day
  • Colorscape

In 2019 visitors to Wembley Park were over 16.4 million, up from 4 million in 2004, and playing a significant part in this is the delivery of London’s first outlet shopping centre; London Designer Outlet (LDO).

With over 70 shops and restaurants / coffee shops, a nine screen cinema and a calendar of activities, the LDO has created somewhere not only for event goers to visit before and after events, but has become a destination in its own right, welcoming over 7 million shoppers a year.

Another addition to the Placemaking strategy at Wembley Park for locals and visitors alike is the inclusion of the children’s all-weather playpark and outdoor space which opened between LDO and Wembley Stadium in 2014.
