James Riddell, Chairman

James was appointed to the Board in September 2015 and Chairman in September 2021. He is Managing Director at Lone Star Europe Acquisitions LLP.

James Saunders, Chief Executive Officer
James Saunders was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Quintain in October 2019 and since then has led the company through the Pandemic, during which Quintain achieved the biggest construction completion year in its 30-year history.

Starting with just 141 apartments for rent in 2016, James has led the team to reach 3,651 homes under management, noting the 2022 year-end occupancy across the entire rental portfolio sat at over 98%. Since then, Quintain’s tenth build to rent development has opened at Wembley Park.

James was previously Chief Operating Officer of Quintain and has been a main board director since 2017. As Chief Operating Officer, James led the place-making and estate management at Wembley Park, commercial partnerships, group marketing, IT and health and safety.

During his time at Quintain, James has led the repositioning of Wembley Park from an event destination to an exciting new neighbourhood for London. He has created the strategic direction for marketing, communications and place making that has led to dramatic reconsideration of the area, increase in footfall, improvements in press coverage and word-of-mouth, plus new partnerships including with Boxpark, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Troubadour Theatres and Second Floor Studios.

He has managed key stakeholder and commercial partner relationships with GLA, London Borough of Brent, Wembley Stadium, the FA, AEG and Realm. He was responsible for the renegotiation of agreements with adjacent landowners that unlocked the Wembley Park site from a development and operational perspective.

Prior to joining Quintain, James was the Chief Marketing Officer at The Cloud Networks, a consultant to Vodafone Europe and Brand Director at Coca-Cola Great Britain. He holds a Sloan Masters from London Business School, a Law Degree from Cambridge University and is a barrister-at-law.
Philip Slavin, Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Philip oversees all aspects of finance and accounting, tax and corporate governance for the Quintain group. Philip was appointed Chief Financial Officer and elected to the Quintain Board in 2020.

Philip joined Quintain from the Westfield Group. Joining in 2008 as Head of strategic planning (UK), Philip was appointed Finance Director (UK & Europe) in 2011 and then moved to Los Angeles to take the role as CFO US & Europe in 2015. A relationship-driven commercial executive with global experience he was previously a director at Deloitte LLP in London and New York specialising in the real estate, hospitality and marketing sectors.

Philip is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Greg Spezzano, Non-Executive Director

Greg is a Managing Director of Hudson Advisors UK Limited and was appointed to the Quintain Board in November 2019. He has over 30 years of experience in the US Multi-Family industry. Prior to joining Hudson Advisors, Greg served at Berkshire Residential Investments as Senior Vice President of Property Management for the US Western States as well as the National Director of Multifamily Lease-up Strategy where he was responsible for supporting all predevelopment activities including design, marketing, budgeting and the execution of lease-up efforts for all new construction.

Dean Minter, Non-Executive Director
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Dean is a Managing Director of Hudson Advisors UK Limited and was appointed to the Quintain Board in January 2022. He also sits on the Audit Committee and the Risk Committee Working Group of Quintain.  Dean is responsible for the oversight and implementation of asset management strategies across various commercial real estate-related investments in the U.K., specializing in office and retail. Mr. Minter has 18 years of experience in the real estate industry in the U.K. and Europe, including on acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions in excess of £5 billion of assets across a range of market sectors.

Jérôme Foulon, Non-Executive Director

Jérôme was appointed to the Board in October 2018. He is Chief Investment Officer for Commercial Real Estate at Hudson Advisors. Jérôme is a member of the Nomination and Audit committees and chairs the Remuneration Committee.

Matt Voyce, Executive Director - Construction

Matt was appointed to the Board in August 2024. He leads the project management team on the transformation of our 85 acre development at Wembley Park, with specific responsibility for design management, procurement and construction. Matt’s role includes the establishment of our contractor framework, the commercial and contractual negotiation of all development and infrastructure contracts, programme and quality management and the implementation of our site wide logistics strategy. Over the last 10 years Matt has successfully delivered on time and to budget, residential, commercial, hotel, retail, infrastructure and public realm projects totalling 2.6m sq ft and at present is managing the construction of over 3,500 homes, Infrastructure and public realm.

Prior to joining Quintain in 2007, Matt was a Sector Director at Arcadis LLP, responsible for project management and quantity surveying within the commercial and residential sector.

He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Jason Margrave, Executive Director - Development

Jason runs the development team currently responsible for the continued transformation of the 85 acre Wembley Park site.  In his role he leads on place making; design; planning; development; commercial leasing and BTR product.  He is also the director responsible for new business origination and acquisition.

Jason has over 20 years development experience and prior to Quintain he worked at Stanhope plc as Development Director for 11 years actively involved in pre-development, development and new business.
  At Stanhope, Jason’s focus was on large scale mixed-use regeneration.  Prime schemes included the 2 million sq ft Ruskin Square scheme in Croydon in partnership with Schroders and the 1.5 million sq ft Station Hill scheme in Reading with Benson Elliot.  Prior to Stanhope he was Development Director at Chelsfield plc, responsible for the regeneration of the 40 acre White City site, now Westfield London, which at the time was the largest new build urban shopping centre in the UK and the largest single institutional forward funded deal in Europe at £1.35Bn.

Jason is a chartered engineer and an active committee member of both the British Council of Offices and the British Property Federation.

Danielle Bayless, Chief Operating Officer - Quintain Living
Danielle joined Quintain as Quintain Living's COO in 2020, bringing over 30 years of U.S. multifamily experience with her. Prior to Quintain, Danielle served as Vice President of Operations at Essex Property Trust, an S&P 500 company, providing strategic leadership for all aspects of team and asset performance including budgeting and lease up execution for a portfolio of 23,000 homes. She has additionally held board seats on the Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) as well as multiple regional chapters of the California Apartment Association (CAA).
Sarah Birchley, General Counsel

As head of the Quintain in-house legal team Sarah oversees legal matters and advises the directors and senior management team. Before joining Quintain Sarah was a Director in Development & Investment at Gowling WLG specialising in real estate development and financing. Sarah has worked in the real estate sector for about 20 years and has a wide range of experience across the residential and commercial sectors advising developers, investors and lenders.

Clare Morgan, Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury

Clare joined Quintain in August 2021, initially as Group Treasurer, before taking on her expanded role as Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury in September 2022. Clare has responsibility for Quintain’s diverse financing activity, structured in order to deliver the group’s strategic ambitions. Prior to joining Quintain, Clare spent 11 years at Barclays, where she gained a wide range of transactional experience, working in loan origination and execution for both public and private companies. 

Jim Eaton-Terry, Chief Technology Officer

Jim joined Quintain in October 2020 and is responsible for the company’s overall technology strategy, covering all aspects of the business from corporate IT, estate and building technology, operating systems to Quintain Living’s CRM requirements. Jim has a broad background in operational technology, having previously led IT teams at Flybe, Clarks and developed technology strategies for Premier Inn and most recently The Collective. 

Stephen Daniels, Estate Director of Operations
Stephen joined Quintain in 1999. Stephen leads the estate management function at Wembley Park with specific responsibility for all estate management and services which include security, health and safety, facilities management, event and commercial operations, parking, transport and marketing. Stephen has responsibility for the profit and loss accounts for Wembley Park and manages new initiatives such as the drive toward community policing across the estate.

Stephen is a member of the Wembley Stadium safety advisory group and manages Wembley Park’s involvement with events at the National Stadium or the OVO Arena Wembley, along with Wembley Park’s own event programmes.

Before joining Quintain, Stephen worked for Sheffield International venues as a Group Fire Safety and Security Manager and spent time as an operational retained fire fighter for South Yorkshire fire service. Stephen holds diplomas in fire safety and has a general safety diploma with the British Safety Council.
Tory Heazell, Company Secretary and Director of Shareholder Reporting

As Company Secretary, Tory is responsible for all aspects of Corporate Governance and compliance for the Group including its ever-evolving portfolio of subsidiaries and joint ventures. Tory also oversees all aspects of the Group insurance, data protection, risk management, management incentive schemes and the capital approval process.

As Director of Shareholder Reporting, Tory has responsibility for the provision of financial and non-financial reports to Quintain’s parent, Lone Star, including short-term cashflow forecasting and reporting.

Tory originally joined Quintain in 2005 as Head of Internal Audit and has had a number of senior roles within the finance team including Chief Operating Accountant and Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. As a result of this Tory has an in-depth knowledge of and involvement in Quintain’s financial systems, corporate structures and accounting, internal management reporting, statutory reporting and operational budgeting and forecasting. Tory was closely involved in most of the key corporate transactions affecting Quintain in the last 13 years including various acquisitions, fund-raising activities, disposals and joint venture partnerships, culminating in Lone Star’s take over in 2015 and the subsequent de-listing, Group simplification and refinancing.

Before joining Quintain, Tory trained as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte, qualifying in 1994, and gained valuable experience at Eidos, the computer games company, and at FTSE listed brewer and retailer, Fuller’s, where she managed the company’s transition to IFRS.

Kathryn McConnell, HR Director

 Kathryn joined Quintain in 2010 and was promoted to HR Director in 2018. Kathryn is   responsible for Quintain's HR strategy and all aspects of HR management for the 100   plus workforce based across two main locations.

 Working closely with directors and senior managers, Kathryn’s role is to ensure that the   business continues to attract, retain and develop talent in order to meet its business   objectives.  She is responsible for overseeing resource planning and recruitment,   performance management, talent development, employee engagement and reward.
 

 During her time at Quintain, Kathryn has gained extensive experience of managing HR   operations across diverse business areas covering the full employee lifecycle, as well as supporting business change and organisational design, the development of corporate values and behaviours and implementing HR systems and processes.

 Prior to Quintain, Kathryn trained and practised as an Employment Solicitor at city firm Nabarro (now CMS) for 10 years, advising on contentious and non-contentious matters with a particular emphasis on the employment aspects of corporate and property transactions.

 Kathryn is on the Law Society’s roll of solicitors as a Non-practising Solicitor. 

Matt Slade, Retail Director
Matt is responsible for the curation and continued growth of Wembley Park's retail and leisure space which is scheduled to be in excess of 500,000 sq ft.  He is leading the positioning and leasing of 230,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space in 4 distinct districts at Wembley Park that provides for the everyday needs of our resident communities and growth as a leisure destination. Matt is also responsible for the existing retail and leisure offer including the asset and property management of the London Designer Outlet centre (LDO), the UK's only urban outlet centre, and the opening of the 3rd BoxPark scheme in London, in late 2018.

A key responsibility is to a develop a vision and strategies that ensures the provision of ground floor spaces positively which contribute to the establishment of Wembley Park as a desirable place to live, work and visit. He is passionate about ensuring our occupiers create memorable experiences, sustainable employment and integrated communities while changing the perception and appeal of Wembley Park.

Matt joined Quintain in 2015 from Westfield Shopping Centres where he worked for 9 years in various shopping centre management roles, including Project General Manager responsible for operational requirements of all live European development projects and Acting General Manager of Westfield Stratford City during the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games.   

Prior to Westfield he had various roles at ChevronTexaco in property management and marketing and before that at Debenhams.


Gary Hoskins, Director of Tax

Gary is Quintain’s Director of Tax, having joined the business in 2022 and being appointed to the Operational Board in 2023.  Gary has responsibility for directing the strategy for all taxes across the Group as well as maintain an efficient group structure.

Gary is a chartered accountant who has specialised in property and construction tax matters since joining KPMG as a graduate recruit in 1994, and prior to joining Quintain, spent 18 years leading the tax team of a listed property group.  Gary is a member of the Taxation Committee for the British Property Federation.

Harriet Pask, Director of Corporate Communication
Harriet is Quintain’s Director of Communication, joined the business in 2013 and was appointed to the Operational Board in 2023. Harriet is responsible for directing the strategy for all communication across the Group.

Harriet has over 20 years’ experience in public relations and corporate communication and prior to joining Quintain, spent more than a decade in the airline industry specialising in crisis communication and investor relations. Harriet is the co-chair of the UKAA communications committee and a member of the Corporate Affairs Committee for the British Property Federation (BPF).
