Our approach
At Quintain, we recognise the need to take action on the climate crisis. We are committed to becoming Net Zero Carbon by 2040 and to being Paris Agreement aligned to limit global warming to ≤1.5ºC. These commitments complement our coporate vision of "bringing property and places to life" which is focused on themes of People, Place and Property.
We have reviewed in great detail the aims of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have worked to identify ways in which we already support or can adjust our practices to align with global sustainability priorities. As a global set of goals, the aims are understandably high-level, but we feel that it is important to recognise their influence and promote their use at every scale of activity. Within each of our three focus areas, we have identified several priority areas, against which we have identified the SDGs which are key to that topic, as well as those that have a lesser influence; this is illustrated throughout our reporting.
We have identified specific KPIs across issues where we didn't yet have them in place, and we have developed a clear set of short, medium and long-term targets to help us to measure our performance against our objectives.
Governance
Our objective is to operate our business in an honest, transparent and ethical manner, protecting company assets and working in the best interests of all our stakeholders. Good governance ensures that the decisions we make are the right ones for the business and our stakeholders.
We adopt best-practice approaches to governance issues, irrespective of requirements and regulation, because we believe it makes us stronger as a business, more attractive to our employees, and facilitates better relationships with our supply chain and local communities.
“I am proud of the work we have done in establishing our networks across the business, engaging with
every department, at every juncture. Our responsibility to deliver on our strategic goals across sustainability is
something I take extremely seriously, as does our Board of Directors. Our corporate
objectives are inextricably linked to our work in this area.” - James Saunders, Chief Executive
