23 September 2024: London Designer Outlet (LDO), the capital's leading fashion and lifestyle outlet destination, has today announced its strongest-ever sales performance outside of December, with August sales totalling £10,072,410.
With a 12.5% boost on 2023’s record-breaking August, the figures top off a blockbuster summer for the LDO as 2024 saw the best-performing summer on record for June, July and August, reaching £28,759,855 in sales. This can in part be attributed to the programme of major shows hosted at Wembley Stadium including Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, and Green Day.
Concert day sales at the LDO were led by Green Day’s performance at the stadium, reaching £558,550. Bruce Springsteen recorded the second-best sales on its best-performing day, with £525,366, and ACDC fans came in third with £472,615 on their highest-recorded day of sales.
The successful summer of sports and music follows a period of consistent growth, with LDO sales outperforming non-London UK outlets in three out of the last four reported quarters, based on data from CACI's UK Shopper Dimensions.
Bargain-savvy fashion fans were drawn to the LDO’s special promotions, such as the VIP week in August, and its evolving lifestyle and fashion brand offering, with the recent additions of Ben Sherman and Lids, alongside the upsizing of existing brand Sunglass Hut.
Daniel Tomkinson, General Manager, said: “It's been a great summer for London Designer Outlet. The demonstratable combination of world-class concerts, dynamic major events programme, and unbeatable offers from our diverse range of brands, has proven to be a winning formula.
“This sales growth speaks to the outlet’s enduring appeal and our commitment to delivering an exceptional shopping experience for every visitor. We look forward to building on this success as we look to the rest of the year and ahead of what is expected to be an even bigger 2025, with a record number of shows planned from Oasis’s comeback tour.”
The LDO, managed by MultiRealm, the UK's specialist outlet operator, is one of only a few outlets that blends retail, F&B, leisure and events in an easy-to-reach urban setting. It features 265,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, including 70 outlet stores, and offers guests year-round discounts of up to 70%.
London Designer Outlet is at the heart of Wembley Park, which features plentiful transport links. Minutes from central London, Wembley Park is easily reached by three tube lines, two train lines, eight bus routes, plus ample car parking.
