- All three months of 2024 achieved record-breaking sales results, including record-breaking Easter weekend sales
- Year-to-March-end sales exceed £100m for the first time
25 April LONDON: London Designer Outlet (LDO), the premium outlet shopping destination at the heart of Wembley Park, kicked off the year with an impressive start, achieving a record breaking first-quarter trading performance and best-ever March. The outlet recorded over £20.8 million in sales, showing a remarkable 5% increase on last year.
In March alone, the LDO recorded over £7.6m in sales, a c. 10% increase on 2023, and bolstered by its strongest-ever Easter weekend, with sales exceeding £1.5m for the first time.
January and February also set new trading records, as deal-hunting shoppers made the most of the LDO’s mix of brands and offers during January sales and Valentine’s Day at the capital’s leading premium fashion and lifestyle outlet destination.
LDO continues to exceed expectations as its Q1 performance marks five consecutive months of record-breaking trading as year-to-March-end sales exceed £100m for the first time. This builds on what was a highly successful year for sales in 2023. This continued growth in sales highlights the outlet’s unwavering resilience and growing appeal to UK shoppers.
Matt Slade, Retail Director at Quintain, said: “A record-breaking quarter, including a best-ever Easter weekend sales performance, is the icing on the cake for an incredible first quarter.
“Despite the unpredictable weather and a challenging economy, we saw Londoners and visitors shopping in their droves at the centre, which is a testament to the continued appeal of the quality shopping experience and affordable prices at the LDO.
“With an impressive calendar of global entertainment at Wembley Stadium and the OVO Arena Wembley this summer, including the highly anticipated Taylor Swift Eras tour, 2024 continues to look bright for the LDO.”
The LDO sits at the heart of Wembley Park and benefits from 5.5 million visitors per year made up of residents, office workers, day visitors and event goers. Situated just 12 minutes from central London, it is the capital's best-connected outlet centre and is easily reached by three tube lines, two train lines, eight bus routes, plus ample car parking. It is one of only a few outlet centres in Europe that blends retail, F&B, leisure, and events in an easy-to-reach urban setting.
Managed by Multi-Realm – the UK's specialist outlet operator – LDO offers 265,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, including 70 outlet stores, restaurants, and coffee shops.
