London Designer Outlet (LDO) recorded its best ever Black Friday sales performance in ten-year history, exceeding 2022’s record breaking performance by 8.6%.

The Black Friday success contributed to a record-breaking November at the LDO for the second year running, with sales surpassing £9 million.

As shoppers hunted for the best deals ahead of the festive season, London's leading fashion and lifestyle outlet saw an 8.1% rise in visitors across Black Friday week, compared to the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, the high street saw a 1.6% fall in footfall in comparison to Black Friday 2023.

On top of the increase in footfall, the outlet saw a staggering 123.4% spike in menswear sales, as shoppers flocked to stores including BOSS, Police and Moss for pre-Christmas deals. The outdoor and footwear categories also performed well with a 37.6% and 30.2% increase on 2022, respectively.

Matt Slade, Retail Director at Quintain, said: “As we approach Christmas, and shoppers continue to navigate the cost-of-living crisis it's clear, from our record-breaking November and best-ever Black Friday performance, that shoppers are increasingly choosing outlet destinations.

“The continued confidence brands have in our destination has played a key role in shopper’s increased preference for outlet shopping. With big brands such as The North Face, Levi’s and Lindt investing in upgrading their stores at LDO, bringing more collections and an enhanced shopping experience, shoppers have increased access to their favourite brands without comprising on the blend of affordability and premium quality offered by outlets.”

London Designer Outlet sits at the heart of Wembley Park. Minutes from central London, it is the capital's best-connected outlet centre and is easily reached by three tube lines, two train lines, eight bus routes, plus ample car parking.

After 10 years, the LDO remains the capital’s leading fashion and lifestyle outlet centre with aspirational and desirable brands including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, BOSS, Guess, Kurt Geiger, adidas, Nike, Puma, Lindt and others offering the bonus of year-round discounts of up to 70% off RRP – and up to 85% off during seasonal sale periods, such as Black Friday and post-Christmas Sales. The centre’s resilience and appeal amongst brands is evidenced by the fact that over a quarter (28%) of the LDO’s stores have remained at the centre since its opening a decade ago.

London Designer Outlet is one of only a few outlet centres in Europe that blend retail, F&B, leisure and events in an easy-to-reach urban setting. The centre, managed by Realm – the UK's specialist outlet operator – provides 265,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, including 70 outlet stores, restaurants and coffee shops.
