- Quintain is set to develop over 9,000 new homes in Ireland, making it the country’s third largest homebuilder
Quintain has received planning approval to build 153 new homes at an 11-acre site in North Dublin through their Irish subsidiary, Quintain Ireland. The gross development value of the project is £69m and they will be partnering with DRES Developments to develop the site.
The site is located at St Marnock’s Bay in Portmarnock and is adjacent to another Quintain Ireland development of 150 homes, known as Dún Sí. The newly approved homes will provide residents with a travel time of less than 20 minutes by Dart to Connolly Station and are located just minutes from Dublin Airport, the Port Tunnel, the M1 and the M50. The first homes will hit the market this summer.
Quintain expanded its operations into Ireland in November last year and will develop 9,000 new homes and 600,000 sq.ft. of commercial space in the Greater Dublin area. Quintain’s existing land portfolio in Ireland covers 460 acres of prime assets at Adamstown, Clonburris, Portmarnock, and Cherrywood, and when developed will make the company the third largest residential developer in the country.
Quintain Ireland launched with an experienced team focused solely on Ireland, jointly led by Eddie Byrne and Michael Hynes.
James Saunders, CEO at Quintain said:
“Quintain Ireland has hit the ground running since it was established in November and we are delighted to have secured our first planning permission.”
“Eddie Byrne, Michael Hynes and the team they’ve put together have made a fantastic start and we’re very excited to continue developing our business in Ireland. We aim to build more than 9,000 homes across four sites spanning 460 acres in the Greater Dublin area, where there is a pressing need for increased housing supply.”
Michael Hynes, Joint Managing Partner of Quintain Ireland, said:
“We are very pleased to have secured this planning approval which takes us a step closer to achieving our wider vision of delivering almost 1,000 new homes in Portmarnock. Quintain Ireland’s commitment is to create attractive and sustainable communities delivering the right mix of housing alongside high-quality amenities.”
In London, Quintain is leading the transformation of Wembley Park into a new cultural neighbourhood which will become the UK’s largest Build to Rent development with over 5,000 rental homes and 8,400 homes in total.
