Deloitte supports graduates with a home at Wembley Park

11 Feb 2020

Deloitte is one of the largest employers of graduates in the UK, recruiting more than 1,000 into its offices each year from countries across the globe. With such prolific recruitment of young professionals comes significant responsibility. Since 2015, Deloitte has recognised the importance and positive impact of offering its graduate trainees help in finding somewhere safe, eminently commutable and affordable to live. The move came after a survey showed that 86% of the firm’s London graduates would like support from their employer in finding accommodation in the city.

Quintain is the latest partner in Deloitte’s initiative. The quality, location and security of Quintain’s Build to Rent (BtR) proposition at Wembley Park, coupled with a cost effective leasing process and hotel-inspired customer service, makes it particularly attractive to employers wanting to offer access to safe, high quality, reliable homes as a staff perk or for corporate accommodation.

All BtR properties at Quintain’s Wembley Park site are let and managed by Quintain Living Quintain’s wholly-owned, award-winning rental management business with an all-inclusive offering. Deloitte has several graduate trainees living in Quintain Living homes at Wembley Park with leases for a competitive rent, negotiated in advance of the graduate trainee programme starting.

Quintain will have 5,000 rental homes in its portfolio at Wembley Park (out of a total of 8,500 apartments in the Masterplan design) by 2027. To that end, Quintain make an exceptional effort to create homes and a wider neighbourhood where people love to live, fostering a community of residents who value the development’s curated retail and leisure offering, coupled with the security of a reliable, professional landlord.

Across all of Quintain’s rental apartments, benefits come as standard, including:

  • Utility bills and superfast broadband included in rent
  • A dedicated residents team and 24-hour concierge
  • Maximum security of a long-term lease and professional landlord
  • Hotel-inspired customer service
  • Excellent transport links within walking distance
  • Perks, discounts and giveaways for residents
  • Simple negotiation, reducing costs and admin time

Quintain’s BTR portfolio at Wembley Park offers a wide range of accommodation, from family friendly developments with acres of podium garden space to apartments designed for those who want to be in the heart of the action. Flexible three-year leases are offered as standard and pet friendly homes are available.

We spoke to Greig, one of Deloitte’s graduate trainees, to find out more about his experience at Quintain Living and why employer assistance in finding accommodation might affect his future career decisions.

  • How long have you lived at Wembley Park?

I’ve been living at Wembley Park for five months now.

  •  Tell us about the process of finding your home at Wembley Park.

I was contacted by Deloitte and they informed me of some opportunities to rent a home with corporate partners. Quintain Living was one of the options. They invited us (my girlfriend and me) for a tour around a similar building and provided entertainment at Boxpark as an icebreaker with the other potential 'renters'. We spoke to a helpful member of the letting team at Quintain Living who let us know about the additional benefits of renting with them, availability of homes, and costs.

  •  Where did you live before you joined Deloitte?

I lived in Guildford with my parents, and also Southampton where I was at university so it was important to me to find somewhere safe with fantastic transport links and a landlord I could trust.

  •  Why did you choose to live at Wembley Park and what do you enjoy about it?

Wembley Park has good transport links and caters for all of our needs. It is also nice to be close to a landmark stadium.

  •  How have you benefitted from the Quintain Living rental offering?

Bills included makes our life much easier, especially as this is the first time I have lived away from home or university. There is less stress about making sure everything is paid. The concierge is so handy for collecting parcels and they essentially sort out all of our little problems and generally make life easier. They are so helpful.

  •  What does it mean to you to have your employer offer you discounted accommodation as a staff perk?

It is nice to know I work somewhere that can pull benefits in other areas of my life. It should be a selling point for future graduates who are considering applying to Deloitte.

  •  Was it important to you for your employer to help you find suitable accommodation?

I didn't know it was an option when I applied to Deloitte but looking back, it has been a massive perk and took the stress of moving to a new city away. It allowed us to enjoy our final summer of studying without the stress of finding somewhere to live.

  •  How has living at Wembley Park helped you settle in to your new city?

Wembley Park has everything you need and it is nice to be somewhere that is easy to get to from central London.

  •  Would an employer offering you access to safe, suitable accommodation be a factor in your career decisions in the future?

Definitely. Knowing how easy it can be to have employer assistance in providing accommodation, I would definitely be swayed towards that employer. Especially if the assistance comes in the way of a discount!
