The Wembley Park scheme began through Quintain's acquisition of approximately 44 acres of exhibition land and car parks surrounding the National Stadium in 2002. Subsequent land purchases have expanded our ownership to 85 acres, creating one of the largest urban regeneration sites in Europe.
Our expertise at Wembley Park has included masterplanning, design, development, delivery, Build to Rent letting and operations, placemaking, and ongoing management.
Having secured planning consent for an initial 5.3 million sq ft of development, work began in 2006 on the modernisation of The OVO Arena Wembley (formerly Wembley Arena) – the UK’s most famous music and entertainment venue – including creating a new front door to the building facing the National Stadium and Arena Square, which previously had been service yard. Through a series of further planning permissions Quintain currently has consent for a total of 8.8 million sq ft of development, including up to 8,500 homes.
More than 4,700 new homes are now completed, alongside a West-End standard 361-bedroom Hilton Hotel, 295-bedroom Premier Inn, fantastic new public spaces, Boxpark Wembley, Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre and London Designer Outlet, bringing over 70 shops and restaurants alongside a multi-screen cinema and children’s playpark. Today more than twice as many people visit London Designer Outlet each year as they do the stadium and arena combined, and Wembley Park saw 16.4 million visitors in 2018.
Wembley Park will be the largest single site of Build to Rent once complete, with 6,044 homes to be managed by award-winning operator Quintain Living who are currently responsible for 3,255 homes at the site.
